A mother’s battle with cancer sparked PurpleDocs. Witnessing the chaos of medical records, Deepak and Pooja Gupta asked: ‘Why can’t doctors see a patient’s full history at a click? Why is the patient’s health history not being used at the time of making clinical decisions?’ Relocating to India, they found existing digital solutions failed its realities. So, in 2010, they acted. Surveying hospitals, they started their journey to build PurpleDocs: a customizable SaaS platform that digitizes records seamlessly, empowering doctors to focus on care

Deepak Gupta
Deepak Gupta, Co-Founder & CEO, blends technical expertise (MS, Computer Science, Virginia Tech, USA) with entrepreneurial vision to lead PurpleDocs. After a nine-year US career, he returned to India in 2010, inspired by his mother’s healthcare experience, and co-founded PurpleDocs. Under his leadership, PurpleDocs has become India’s leading health tech company, processing over 2 crore health records across 20+ cities. Incubated at iCreate, a winner of innovation awards, and a Medgate 40 under 40 honoree, PurpleDocs embodies his customer-centric approach.
Pooja Gupta
Pooja Gupta, Co-Founder & CTO, is the technological and operational powerhouse at PurpleDocs, with over 20 years of experience in the software industry. Since co-founding PurpleDocs in 2010, she has led product designing, team and product management, and operations, demonstrating her versatility as a “mompreneur.” Previously, she gained 7 years of experience as Software Lead and Team Lead at companies like HCL Infosystems, Tieto, and Saama Technologies. Her servant leadership has built high-performing teams (reducing attrition by 40%). Recognized as a Top 50 CTO by YourStory, Pooja Gupta is a key driver of PurpleDocs’s success.
